    Army of Anyone

I thought there was already an AoA-thread...... well guess not.

Anyways, here's a link to check out one of their new songs....

    http://us.video.aol.com/audio.full.adp?pmmsid=1681491

    Here's the blabbermouth article:

AOL Music is currently streaming "Goodbye", the first single from ARMY OF ANYONE, the new band featuring FILTER's Richard Patrick (vocals), former STONE TEMPLE PILOTS members Dean (guitar) and his brother Robert DeLeo (bass), and ex-DAVID LEE ROTH drummer Ray Luzier. Check it out at this location (scroll down to bottom of article).

ARMY OF ANYONE recently signed a deal with the new artist-friendly label launched by The Firm.

The new music company, with records to be distributed by EMI Music in the U.S. and licensed for territories around the globe, will take the unprecedented step of splitting all profits with the artists signed to the venture rather than the traditional royalty structure. ARMY OF ANYONE and multi-platinum recording artist and actress MANDY MOORE are the first to sign to the company.

ARMY OF ANYONE's debut album was produced by Bob Ezrin, the mastermind behind PINK FLOYD's "The Wall" and ALICE COOPER's early hits, and was mixed by Andy Wallace (NIRVANA, WHITE ZOMBIE, SLAYER, KORN, DISTURBED, LIMP BIZKIT).

Patrick had previously stated about the new group: "I hope that fans of both FILTER and STONE TEMPLE PILOTS will be as ecstatic about the music as I am. Although it is not the album you were expecting from me, I'm confident that you'll be very pleased with the result. FILTER will always be close to my heart, but ARMY OF ANYONE is my priority right now."

I have alot of hope for Army of Anyone, and I can't wait until the album is dropped. I've been following them for a while, but didn't hear them until the official release of their new single.

    Re: Army of Anyone

    Goodbye

Yeah, I got this thinkin' in my head
Yeah, you wanna say the things not said

    Whats the reason?

Don't really care if you leave
    Just wanna see you beaten
Don't really care if you grieve
    Don't really need a reason

    Hey, goodbye
    I wish you stayed here
    I wish you were here

Yeah, I got this feelin' in my veins
Yeah, a helpless feeling mixed with pain

    What's the meaning?

    I just can't believe
that you're not really with me
    I just can't believe
I wonder if you'll miss me

    Hey, goodbye
    I wish you stayed here
    I wish you were here

    Re: Army of Anyone

the more i listen, the more this reminds me of talk show.

weiland and the deleo brothers need to reconcile and do stp for the remainder of their career.  seriously, velvet revolver is nothing special and STP is a great singles band, they are like the rem or u2 of the 90s and nothing any of them do outside of stp will ever compare to stp.

i think they suffered a bad rap being a pearl jam rip off.  pj is my fafvorite band, and i think the only similarity ever was the plush video and weilands posturing.  musically, stp sounded like none of the 90s bands

    Re: Army of Anyone

I find AOA not to my liking, which is a real bummer. Many of the recent super groups have not lived up tot he hype in my book. I am an STP and Filter fan, but this stuff is just kind of lifeless to me. I don't like Velvet Revolver or Audioslave much either and I am a huge Slash (not so much GnR who put one of the worst shows I've ever seen), Soundgarden, and RATM fan.

yeah. i think they have that generic we could be any band out there sound but then again i never liked filter in the first place and i only like two full stp albums. so maybe i am just destined to dislike it no matter what.

I'm annoyed because you are being completely rude and inconsiderate and I have no idea why because I have no clue who you are. But whatever. If that's the way you wanna be, so be it.

    Re: Army of Anyone

First of all AoA is a "super duper" group Wink

In all honesty though, these guys are AMAZING talents and the sweetest, most humble people I've ever met.  I spent an entire weekend with them in Atlanta a couple weeks ago... I saw 2 shows on their promo tour.  They are there to play music, not act like celebrities, and it comes across in the music and their personalities!

The best way to appreciate this band is to NOT expect the next STP record, or "the next STP + Richard Parick" record, because it won't sound anything like it.  They are far more talented as a 4-some, and I have gotten the amazing privelige to hear the whole album on their bus.  It's... AWESOME.  The rockers are like ROCKKKKKK and the ballads will simply reduce you to tears (they did me and Robert DeLeo for sure).  Best damn writing I've heard in years, Rich and the DeLeos are at their finest.  And what can I say about Ray Luzier? That man is a phenomenal drummer, one of the best working!

I could blab on about them for days, but I'll just help promote the street team and website hehe
