    Monster Magnet

    One of my favorite bands

    Probably one of the most underrated bands ever

    Gottalove that psychodelic space-god rock or whatever you'd call it

    Great band, I've always thaught of them as stoner rock, don't remember where I saw that.

    They're always listed as stoner rock. But I think that's a stupid name for it.

    The only other thing I've heard called that is Queens of the Stone Age. Monster Magnet and Queens of the Stone Age are pretty much nothing alike.

    Thinking technicly I'd describe Monster Magnet as expermental psychodelic rock

    Monster Magnet existed before stoner rock actually became a term, so technically they are pioneers -- like Kyuss.

     

    If you like Monster Magnet, check out Ed Mundell's side projects with The Atomic Bitchwax.  I and II are incredible, both are must haves.  III is good.....not totally necessary, but good.

    Sqeeee! New album! Eventually..

    I love MM. They rock. And agreed, musically they're fairly far removed from QOTSA. (Which is generally a good thing. ;)

    My favorite two bands! Alice in Chains and Monster Magnet

    Superjudge and Dopes To Infinity are two of the greatest records ever made! Hence my forum name!

    I'm so glad Dave's back to working, even though they sound completely different now days I still love them.

    they have a really cool vibe. i've heard "Stoner Rock" pinned on 'em as well. they're definately a throw back to when rock was rock as opposed to the idiotic Korn Biscuit crap of late. first time i saw them was in a rented video called "Molted" and it had Monster Magnet, Paw, Soundgarden, & a couple others. can't remember the song they did but it got me interested. keep thinking Space God but thats not it....hmm
