    Jane's Addiction

A great band that ended much too quickly. Discuss.

I can't say enough about Jane's Addiction. One of my favorite bands ever, ever, ever, ever. Their music is so amazing...Perry's vocals, Dave's guitar playing, Eric's bass playing (!!!)...Stephen Perkins is one of my favorite drummers.

Ritual de lo Habitual is a fantastic album that I highly recommend. It's a shame they aren't together anymore.

What a badass band. I only got to see them twice, once on the relapse tour with Flea on bass, and the second time on Lollapalooza in '03 when they had Chris Chainey on bass. I would have preferred Flea again, but eh. Just glad to see them play. Such a killer live band. Perrys such an off the wall frontman, and Dave is just soooo fuckin badass. He has created by far some of the absolute coolest riffs ever(mountain song, come on, nuff said). Stephen Perkins is a great drummer. Eric Avery was alright. They were cool with Flea. Too bad the band is all done. That Panic Channel band doesn'r hold a candle to Janes.

Jane's Addiction Been Caught Stealing still makes me laugh.  I can remember when it was actually in rotation on MTV back when they played music.   Somebody tried to tell me that Perry was a polygamist.  I'm pretty sure she was full of crap because she also tried to tell me that Dave Williams died of a drug overdose.  Not true it was heart diease.  The Panic Channel just isn't cutting it.

No kidding.  When I heard the line up I was like did he lose a bet?  I heard on the radio that AIC was supposed to be the next band after INXS and I was like never gonna happen. And now its Supernova.

Ok, there's this black and white truck commercial. The trucks going though the mud and there's people drinking beers and shit and the overlapping track sounds like it's JA. That voice sounds SOO much like Perry. Does anyone know of the commercial I'm talking about and does anybody know if it's Jane's Addiction or not?

    Re: Jane's Addiction

I love Jane's Addiction. I bought Nothing's Shocking a few days ago, and it's a fantastic album. Jane Says has to be one of the best alt rock songs of the past decade or so. I just wish Perry and the guys would get back together for another album, but who knows.

Jane's Addiction rocks my socks off. They were one of the first alternative bands I ever liked.

What's even worse is I paid to see Satellite Party.....minus Nuno. It was horrible.

ANYWAY....with all this talk of reunions. Keep hope alive! From www.6767.com

    1. Hey Dave, Are you going to have any input concerning the Jane's box set that Perk said he wanted to release this year?

Perkins has always been the archive guy when it comes to recordings of rare and unreleased studio versions and live performances of songs. When it comes to selecting material, I have total faith in his choices as he literally has everything dating back to the late 80's. Other than that, I can't imagine what else would appear in a box set other than the four records that have been released.

    2. What would happen if a tour came about? You are on record (apparently) as saying your not really interested.

Yeah, well to be honest... My love for the music out weighs any old baggage that might have been. As I have said in the past... If Van Halen and the Eagles can get over their issues, I don't see why we can't. I just think that if something like that ever happened, it should be shows only with no new label, management, photo shoots, press and all that crap that clouds the experience. Simply a month or two of theater tour dates to celebrate the music.

SO expect a box set and a DVD of Soul Kiss and The Gift and if all the planets align correctly....a reunion.

Eric Avery has a solo CD coming out called Help Wanted and you can hear the single on his muspace page http://www.myspace.com/ericaverymusic
