The show was AWESOME!!! I need more AIC. In the 30 years I have been going to concerts this show ranks in my all time top 5. The guys looked like they were really having a great time on stage. It could have helped too that they were recording the show. For 2 hours I got to stand on the rail in front of Jerry and sing my heart out with him. I was handed a guitar pick, got hit in the head with a drum stick and have a bruise, but the best, most amazing feeling was when my eyes and Jerry's locked and sang to each other. I am still in heaven from that feeling.

Here is the set list from last night.

    Don't Follow
    Heaven Beside You
    Brother
    I Can’t Remember
    Nutshell
    Killer is Me
    Sludge Factory
    Love Hate Love
    No Excuses
    Down in a Hole
    Angry Chair
    Got Me Wrong
    ----------------------
    Curtains (Elton John Cover)
    Squeeze Box (The Who Cover)
    Would?
    Rooster

ItsAllAboutTheMusic-- you must have been really close to where I was because I was right in front of Jerry but I was in the second row behind those of you against the barrier.

Anyway, the show was AWESOME!  I wish I had been able to take a camera in to sneak some pictures/video...but the HOB was really strict with that (and I probably couldn't have snuck any pictures because a security guard was right near me the whole time).  I flew into New Orleans yesterday afternoon and spent a few hours in town before heading over to the venue.  I saw the tour buses and even caught a glimpse of Sean getting "mad" at Baldy about something Cool  I waited in line for about an hour and a half and met this really cool Canadian couple who had flown out from CANADA to see the show!!  And I thought I was badass just by flying out from Philly...Stick out tongue

The set list looks right to me.  Craig told the crowd that the show was going to be "longer" than the other shows (it wasn't) and that we were being filmed for a live DVD...well...I don't know about that, but the crowd definitely was receptive and screamed their hearts out.  I actually got some eye-lockage with William during "I Can't Remember" and "Don't Follow."  That was one of the highlights of my night for sure Wink  There was a little bit of "Girls Gone Wild" action...but whaddya expect...it's a rock show in NEW ORLEANS...that makes for an interesting combination.

The only thing that kind of brought the show down for me was that they cut Mr. Layne Staley out of the Rooster video.  I was looking forward to cheering when I saw him come on the screen (just as I did at the other shows when he was still in the video).  I was standing next to two other hardcore fans who I was singing along with the whole time and the one chick look especially pissed off to see Layne taken out of the video.  They didn't do anything at all to pay tribute to Layne...even though I could definitely feel his presence during some of the songs (especially "Down in a Hole").  I guess they really are trying to move on from the "past AiC"...definitely something that'll take some gettin' used to.

Anyway...as I said the show was AWESOME and completely worth it!!  I was going to wait around after the show to see if I could get my ticket stub signed but the security guard rushed me away...as I said, this place had the most asshole security detail ever.

Guess we'll have to wait and see about the live DVD...

Great show... thanks for coming to NOLA guys!  It's been a long time since I first saw Jerry perform at the House of Blues.  I'd have to go back and check my ticket stubs, but I want to say it was back in '98 or '99... and then again a couple of years later after Will joined the lineup.  Anyway, thanks to the whole AIC crew for another great and memorable show.  One question though...

Why did Craig Gass tell us we'd see a guest or two come out during the AIC set?  I guessed we'd get Scott Weiland on a song (without having read any reviews of earlier shows.)  Did he just decide to not come out that night?  Confused

I was wondering about that too...and I had read previous reviews and thought it would be Scott Weiland.  Maybe Craig was just messing with us, or maybe Scott just didn't want to come out.  Really, I'd much rather have William sing "Angry Chair"...I think he does really well on that song.

My vote would be for the guy who was having his "birthday party" at the show...man was he wasted!  I wouldn't be surprised if he had shat his pants...especially after Cantrell handed him a pick.  That just might have been too much for him.

I really thought the surprise guest would be Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters since they played the very next night at the HOB in NOLA. All in all I wasn't a bit dissapointed. Can't wait to see AIC again.

It was really great. I had front row center (next to the "wasted birthday guy"-who wasnt really very drunk. That dude was just naturally high, and very cool I might add). I thought the set they played was exceptional, It was definitely worth the trip down there. I wont compare it to the '93 show I saw them play, but it was really, REALLY good.

Hey, I saw you get hit with the stick btw-sucked, it wasnt even Seans. lol Nice crazy stripper girl who basically beat the tar out of everyone around her (after groping everyone around her too!) to get that stick.

Thanks a TON for posting those photos!  They're awesome!  From what I can tell, I'm in two of them.  Is the girl holding her tits in the one photo the same girl who pulled up her shirt when Craig was doing his routine?
