ItsAllAboutTheMusic-- you must have been really close to where I was because I was right in front of Jerry but I was in the second row behind those of you against the barrier.
Anyway, the show was AWESOME! I wish I had been able to take a camera in to sneak some pictures/video...but the HOB was really strict with that (and I probably couldn't have snuck any pictures because a security guard was right near me the whole time). I flew into New Orleans yesterday afternoon and spent a few hours in town before heading over to the venue. I saw the tour buses and even caught a glimpse of Sean getting "mad" at Baldy about something
I waited in line for about an hour and a half and met this really cool Canadian couple who had flown out from CANADA to see the show!! And I thought I was badass just by flying out from Philly...
The set list looks right to me. Craig told the crowd that the show was going to be "longer" than the other shows (it wasn't) and that we were being filmed for a live DVD...well...I don't know about that, but the crowd definitely was receptive and screamed their hearts out. I actually got some eye-lockage with William during "I Can't Remember" and "Don't Follow." That was one of the highlights of my night for sure
There was a little bit of "Girls Gone Wild" action...but whaddya expect...it's a rock show in NEW ORLEANS...that makes for an interesting combination.
The only thing that kind of brought the show down for me was that they cut Mr. Layne Staley out of the Rooster video. I was looking forward to cheering when I saw him come on the screen (just as I did at the other shows when he was still in the video). I was standing next to two other hardcore fans who I was singing along with the whole time and the one chick look especially pissed off to see Layne taken out of the video. They didn't do anything at all to pay tribute to Layne...even though I could definitely feel his presence during some of the songs (especially "Down in a Hole"). I guess they really are trying to move on from the "past AiC"...definitely something that'll take some gettin' used to.
Anyway...as I said the show was AWESOME and completely worth it!! I was going to wait around after the show to see if I could get my ticket stub signed but the security guard rushed me away...as I said, this place had the most asshole security detail ever.
Guess we'll have to wait and see about the live DVD...
