Pretty cool show, I was absolutely wore out after that show! The guys were great, William was awesome although he gets drowned out by all of us singing. They seemed to be in good spirits. Wish they were headlining though. We stayed until Velvet Revolver brought the stools out. Weiland has gotten a little wierd for my liking. Anyway, other than the rude parking lot guys we had a great time. Megadeth tomorrow!

Re: Atlanta, GA (HiFi Buys Amphitheatre) 10.3.07

I really enjoyed the show. I'm embarressed to say but i did not get tix to this until last minute because AIC was not headlining.  A buddy called me and said he had about 8 tix for the show 4 of which were on the 15 row. So of course iw as like count me in.

Unfortunately we got there a little later then i would have wanted to but since it was a free ticket that was given to me i just rolled with the crowd. We were heading in as AIC was going on :(

To the best of my knowledge they played

    Again
    Grind
    We Die Young
sludge Factory (i forogot about it i think it was played after we die young/ not sure though)
    Them Bones
    Rain When I Die
    No Excuses
    Nutshell
    Angry Chair//Man In the box
    Would
    Rooster
I could be a little off on the setlist. If anyone remembers it differently please make changes. I think their was another song played between nutshelll and angry chair.
As for the performance it was AWESOME. They sounded really good. They all seemed in good spirits. They melted the end of Angry chair into Man in the Box and it was awesome.
the crowd that i went with are not big AIC fans but all said that AIC blew Velvet Revolver off the stage. Many comments of how they wished AIC was the headliner. All i could do is nod my head and agree.
    That's all i got.

Thanks for posting the set list.  That show was absolutely amazing.  That was one of my "To Do before I Die" kind of things.  I wanted to hear Sunshine, but I got SO many other good songs still.  I left half way through Velvet Revolver though.  It was too loud.  I know that sounds lame but I just can't handle it when it hurts my ears.  Besides AiC was THE main attraction for me.  Again.  Right up there with Tool in life experiences for me.

Re: Atlanta, GA (HiFi Buys Amphitheatre) 10.3.07

i was blown away! ive seen van halen and aerosmith, but this show was definatley the best!  I wasnt expecting sludge factory, so when they played those first chords, it was a complete surprise. Big Smile It seemed like william was having some guitar problems near the beginning of angry chair, but other than that, a very solid show!  (we found 2 picks on the ground after alice went off!)

ive always been a big VR fan too, but i was kinda discouraged when i read the reviews on here about their playing on this tour.  well, i was deifnatley not disappointed with their performance! in fact, the crowd seemed to react alot more to VR's songs than they did to AIC's.  Slash played a mindblowing solo that led up to the intro of Set Me Free.  Hearing 2 of my favorite bands was one of the most satisfying expereicnes ever for me, and i definately will not forget this show!  Big Smile

Thanks for the reviews, you guys!

I would LOVE to have heard Sludge Factory, but I'm not going to complain, my show was incredible.  I'm only a little jealous...!  Wink

    Thanks for sharing!

holy shnikes that was a helluva show.  it was our first AIC show and it was amazing.  i wasnt much of a VR fan before last night even though i like the members.  they definitely changed my mind last night though.  Alice rocked, but VR def. didnt let me down.  Im gonna try to make it to an Acoustic show.  BTW, we were barely out of reach when they started throwing out picks Sad

He did, of course, mention that Atlanta is his hometown, so people started cheering as if they had something to do with it LOL

Here is the set, as I saw it!

    Again

    Grind

    We Die Young

    Them Bones

    Sludge Factory

    Rain when I Die

    Nutshell

    No Excuses

    Angry Chair

    Man In the Box

    Would?

    Rooster

I also appreciated the camparisons between the Rooster's experiences in Vietnam and the current war in Iraq. That's when I changed my name to the Rooster, back in the day, because I drew the camparison! The last thing on the video board was"NO WAR!" I agree! Mike

Unfortunately, the Govner reports he had problems with his recording of this show...

In the end we are what we pretend to be...
