Geeked [8-|] Re: W. Palm Beach, FL (Sound Advice Amphith.) 10.7.07 - Early Show Comments

Just got back from the show.

The quick summary is as follows:

    • The Band kicked ass, even though their hearts weren't into it.  Leads you to:
    • The crowd sucked.  Most likely the worst crowd of any show, ever.  There was no movement in the pit.  The complete opposite of last year's show in Ft. Lauderdale.  And everyone's:
    • The setlist was great, but way too short!  These boards give you everything.  Couldn't even stomach waiting for VR.  I can imagine how great AIC was for the first-timers coming to see VR.  VR did you guys a huge favor on this tour.
    • The humidity.  All you had to do was look at their hair; limp.  The humidity was great for me.  That's why I moved to South Florida: Believe it or not, you can actually miss Detroit; best Rock town in the Country.  BALDY, how did your camera lenses hold up Jerky?
    • The security.  Fairly decent.  I made my it halfway through my cigar before a jerkoff made me extinguish it.  But he didn't stop me from smoking.  The window:
    • The Manager?  He/She is letting this Band miss a huge opportunity to greatly expand their fan base and step to the TOOL level of exposure or beyond.  These guys are that good.
    • The doubters.  Get to a show or you can't call youself a fan anymore and you'll account on this website will be closed.

And to everyone out there waiting to unite:

Impeach and convict the war criminal Bush!

Re: W. Palm Beach, FL (Sound Advice Amphith.) 10.7.07 - Early Show Comments

    i just got home now.

it was an amazing show. i don't know about the guys in the pit but the people in section 5 (where i was) were going out of their minds. especially during Rooster and Man In The Box.

    couple of highlights:

    • Rooster (they showed the video for it)
    • Man In the Box (crowd went nuts)
    • oh, and Jerry said something along the lines of..."We got WILLIAM DUVALL on vocals, MIKE INEZ on bass, SEAN KINNEY on drums and...me, Jerry Cantrell on guitar." he was being really modest about himself but the crowd screamed the loudest for him and started chanting JER-RY, JER-RY, JER-RY, and so on. Big Smile
    • Nutshell (i almost started crying 'cause it always reminds me of Layne)
    • Velvet Revolver played Vasoline and another STP song and also played the G N' R song, Patience.

what was really amazing was that even though its VR's tour the people were going crazier over Alice, at least from where i was.

and if anyone wants to know the setlist:

    • Again
    • Grind
    • Them Bones
    • Man In the Box
    • Rooster
    • It Ain't Like That
    • We Die Young
    • Dam That River
    • Rain When I Die
    • Angry Chair
    • Would?
    • Nutshell

it not necessarily in that order though. oh and sorry if we're not supposed to post the setlists.

all in all, it was amazing, and i am convinced that William is great for Alice.

Re: W. Palm Beach, FL (Sound Advice Amphith.) 10.7.07 - Early Show Comments

Got in a little after midnight. I agree that the crowd sucked, but the band was badass. I just wish that they were able to play more than an hour. I just got done listening to my recording, the setlist was....

    1. Again
    2. Grind
    3. We Die Young
    4. Them Bones
    5. Damn That River
    6. Rain When I Die
    7. Nutshell
    8. It Ain't Like That
    9. Angry Chair
    10. Man In The Box
    11. Would?
    12. Rooster

William sounded just infuckingcreadable as usual. Jerry was great, I heard Mr. Kinney get the loudest cheers of all though. If I get a chance this week I'll try and post up some audio and video. Cameras WERE allowed in the venue, but security was going around telling everyone that they weren't. Bastards.  It would have been a better closer if they switched around "Would?" and "Rooster," but the band was just so tight. Can't wait to see the band again. Love hearing them with DuVall, and Kinney is just hands down one of the sickest drummers alive.
VR was good, but they went on at almost 10, and the venue has an 11 curfew, so this definatly made them cut there setlist down quite a bit. Always fun watching Weiland and Slash. Slash did the duck walk, and Weiland was his usual flamboyant self :p
Ok, well, I'm tired as hell, I'm goin to sleep, haha.

I've got nothing to add except I noticed when william played guitar, I think Jerry had them turn his amps to zero because you couldn't here a note he played....long delay before VR came on and they had to drop a few songs....had pit passes and took some great pics from the front row, I'd be happy to share, drop me a line

yes, alice in chains were freakin awesome last night.  william, thank God for being in alice in chains, your a better vocalist than i thought u were (but then again, i dont know very much).  i just wish that you guys could have played longer. considerin this is my first concert( and yes, i would only settle for alice in chains) i dont knw if the crowd was dead or what not, but  in sect 5 (i was next to ChainsHead), everybody was definetly alive and rockin. i hope the next time alice in chains come they definetly rock the house on their own tour. i like velvet revolver and all, but when compared to alice in chains, c'mon, u know their is no comparison.
