You know, it sucks that during the debates the one who I liked the most was the one who spoke with the most passion, Ron Paul.  He'll never get it, though.  Im a registered Republican, so out of the four I'm probably going to go with McCain.  He has the most experience, but then again he's not experienced in the executive branch.  Huckabees too religous and closed minded, Giuliani seems to truly back himself on just 9/11 and Romney; although a brilliant businessman and an all around good person does seem to want to be President, just to be President. 

I'm not fully impressed with any of the candidates who have a chance.

I was impressed with Obama getting votes. 

Lets be honest here.  The President who will do the best job cleaning up what happened, even though I dont HATE Bush, would be Hillary.  Her hubby, ehemm, Political Partner whose already been there for 8 years would be the best adjusted to take control.  I hate the Clintons, though..

God forbid Huckabee decides to start feeding people or worrying about Planet Earth.

How many signs to we need that democracy is all but gone before we finally react?

How many networks covered the story on Dennis K not being allowed to debate last night?

How many networks talked about only 20% of the votes being counted in New Hampshire?

How many networks covered that Ron Paul and Dennis K both filed suits this week for a recount in New Hampshire?

How many networks mentioned that Ron Paul wasn't allowed onto the Fox Noise debate in New Hampshire? Paul finished 4th and wasn't allowed to debate and Gulliani finished 6th and WAS allowed to debate.

The US media is our worst enemy. They have blurred the lines between truth and fiction so much that most people now tune out which is exactly what happens when every free society turns to fascism.

Primary elections don't make sense.  Michigan screwed up and who knows if we get any delegates anyway?  I had to declare which of the two parties that I was voting for.  Then, they asked me if the number of the ballot was the same as what was on their paperwork.  After all this I had to mark uncommitted on the ballot to offer my support for Barak Obama.  I see character and intelligence in Obama.  Edwards and Clinton seem like marionettes, fake and complete with political strings attached.

okay here's what i think. keep in mind that i'm not too big into politics so take what i say with a grain of salt.

first of all i think for the most part the primarys exist mainly to weed out all of the genuine candidates. all of the sincere politicians who haven't sold out to one of these big, evil corporations get knocked out early. then were left with two candidates who sold their soul to become president, and now we have to pick the lesser of two evils. with that said i think this year could be an exception. i think i really like obama and he definately has a fighting chance. i like edwards but we all know he doesn't have a chance. honestly i'm not very confident that he would make the best president.

i also like huckabee and ron paul. they just really seem like two genuine guys. from what i've seen and heard from them they're pretty consistent.

anyways i have a few months to figure it out so we'll see. i do agree with killer when he says that the media really makes sure that they get their guy. they give you all the reasons you need to vote for their guy. i don't know if all of the media outlets are trying to get mccain, romney, like killer says, but thier definately giving us a slanted view of the candidates.

that's how i feel but what do i know.

Sadly, you are correct. Ron Paul has zero chance of winning.

Ron Paul, while I disagree with him on many issues is a guy who if elected would shake up the entire Government and the evil machine it's become which is exactly what we need right now.

We need to get the control away from the corporations and we also need to get political hacks out of the controller positions within the media.

I don't care if a person is left or right, dem or republican you cannot tell me you feel "informed" by the US media.

Even if you are a staunch right winger you can't tell me you trust Fox News to give you "fair and balanced" coverage of anything.

If you actually look up the word "liberal" the most liberal network is in fact Fox News who brags more than any that they aren't liberal.

They are liberal with their selection of stories and more importantly they are liberal with the truth.

The reason I went back to this topic is because it's vitally important for everyone to understand how our media selects what stories to run on what candidates and this causes the public to switch candidates and this specific case was one where a Republican got screwed by the corporate machine that is in charge.  

Ron Paul got screwed not only by Murdoch by also by the entire media machine.

 Think about it. Ron Paul has money and the most loyal supporters of any candidate. He finished 4th in Iowa which was nothing short of a miracle. His momentum was exactly where he hoped it would be going into New Hampshire and the corporate machine pulled the rug right out from under him and killed his chances.

They did this not only to Ron Paul but also Edwards, Biden, Dennis K, Bill Richardson and Chris Dodd.

Some think Thompson is part of this group that got screwed but he's not of the same cut as the others. This is a lazy guy who hasn't put much energy into this at all. He thought everyone would love him and he wouldn't have to do much work and he was wrong.

 Im a registered Republican, so out of the four I'm probably going to go with McCain. 

One simple question. Why does every candidate including McCain say that "America needs change?"

Obviously they all see how bad things are and how much worse they are going to get whcih should tell you that the people you get your info from have been lying to you for a very long time.

Now look at WHO specifically has voted for all of the worst Bush policies over the past 6 plus years.

Wanna guess who that is?

The guy you say you are probably voting for.

Don't get me wrong. I have a ton of respect for McCain for not only what he went through during the war but also for having the balls to explain to the American people that torture under ANY circumstances is unethical, unconstitutional and wrong on every level and it spreads hatred towards America more than anything else we could do (even invading the wrong country)

But....McCain is a corporate hack.

He promotes trickle down economics and we've had 20 plus years of data that clearly shows that giving the rich tax cuts does NOT create jobs and giving a small piece to the rest of us doesn't pump up the economy at all.  

McCain is part of the corporate machine more than any other candidate. He won't hand over the keys as much as Romney and Gulliani will if they were elected but McCain has a proven track record of endless votes where he looked out for the big guy and the big guy only.

Man Dirt, I know you think this is a good thing but this is what we've had for almost 7 years and ALL of the candidates are now stating "change is needed" and that our economy is in deep trouble. Use THIS type of info to judg if Reaganomics works, not Dad or the media.

McCain is also is lying to the American people about the troop surge.

Look back at what they said the surge was needed for.

They ALL said "we need some extra security to create some breathing room for the politicians in Iraq to get the Government up and running.

The Troops fufilled their end of the deal. Everyone agrees that the surge made Iraq a little safer but the reality is that it didn't help at all for long term solutions which means it didn't work.

If you have the best Quarterback in Football and you train him up to throw the ball 80 yards you have one heck of a tool to win a game but what if you have a bad line who can't block and the QB never has time? What if you have slow WR's who can't run 80 yards fast enough?

My point is that war (especially this type of war) has a ton of moving parts and there is no point training up a QB to throw 80 yards if he'll never get that chance.

There is no point in "surging" more troops into Iraq if the politicians are all corrupt and unable to work with each other.

This is what we said prior to the surge and we were call "unpatriotic" for that.

Guys like McCain pushed for this surge (out of desperation) and it failed and a lot of US troops died during that "experiment." (their word not mine)

It would be one thing if Bush or McCain got on TV and said "look, we took a chance based on optimism and it didn't work" but they are lying to the American people acting like the Troops can control the overall destiny of Iraq (they know they can't but they don't want to be blamed personally)

Our Troops are the best on the planet but they cannot solve anything political in Iraq. PERIOD.

With no political solutions you have no solid Government, with no solid Government you have limited peace or security and you certainly wont see basics brought back anytime soon (clean water, electricity, jobs, etc...)

Sludge, I always love reading what you have to say for many reasons. First of all you have guts and don't mind saying what might be unpopular or something that might make you look uninformed (whcih rarely ever happens even though you are modest)

Next is that you have evolved soooo much in the past few years and I'm soooo fuggin proud of you for that. I'm not saying you were wrong and now your right or then you disagreed and now you agree or whatever. I just love when someone is capable of taking the time to look at things with an open mind and finds a way to step back from the media hype and the endless distractions and actually sees things for what they really are.

This is not an easy task at all but it's a task you've pull off quite well.

Unfortunatley, you are exactly right. I hope everyuone in here takes an honest look at these elections and the hype that goes on from the media to direct us towards who they want us to vote for. Once you see how it works then you can go back to 2004 and see how that went down and then 2000, etc....

and now we have to pick the lesser of two evils.

 The media and the corporations that own/operate or pay them push us towards the worst of the two but usually enough of the American people see through the BS and make the right call.

But......

That's when Diebold machines come into play (i/e Ohio 2004 and Florida 2000)

and if that doesn't work....That's when the Supreme Court gets involved (i/e Florida 2000, New Hampshire 2008 and Michigan 2008))

Look at how much hype he got prior to Iowa and now look at the lack of hype. This was no accident. They hyped him to ruin Edwards chances who was threat number 1 (smart white male democrat with name recognition) and they took the hype away prior to New hampshire so he couldn't build the momentum that was building.

Both are good guys but neither have a chance for similar reasons (not selling out to corporations) Huckabee ruined what little chance he had last week when he said he wants our Constitution modified to line up more with the Bible.

You are doing the right thing. Don't be in any rush but also don't buy into what the TV or radio is telling us.

Me too bro. I'm from next door (Indiana) and I can totally relate.

 Here is some more stuff to look for this week.

 More media created race baiting (wedging) about Hillary and Obama. Even though the candidates themselves aren't talking about this garbage the media will continue to act as though they are talking about it.

It's a tactic that is used to divide a strong group of people into smaller groups. In this case the group of whites who might vote for a black canddiate and the blacks who might vote for the black candidate.

The corporations have seen the polling and they know that a lot of blacks and whites will vote for Obama but this endless (fictional) debate (turned into turmoil)  over race will cause some blacks to go with Hillary and even more whites to go with Hillary.

You'll see even more African American (Hillary backing) talking heads on TV defending Obama (you read that right...Obama) and this is done to cause a knee jerk reaction from whites who might have voted for Obama but now they won't because of all the race issues being brought up and the radical blacks talking on their TV.

The other thing that will happen soon is that Fred Thompson will drop out.  He was only in the race to keep Huckabee from building momentum especially in South Carolina. Now that Huckbee is all but dead meat Thompson can go back to laying on his couch.

Has anyone been watching the media coverage on this circus?

Look for this tonight.

The media will continue to talk about Huckabee in passed tense as if he has no chance now that S Carolina didn't go his way and he didn't do well in nevada but at the same time they'll talk about how Rudy Gulliani is still alive and has a chance.

This is the corporations inserting one of their guys into the race even though Gulliani hasn't had any sucess in any of the races thus far.

The entire media has also lied about Gulliani in that they say "he has all of his eggs in one basket" refering to Florida but the reality is that he had all his eggs in New Hampshire until he got his *ss beaten but they don't want to remind America of recent history (reality) they want to act like that never happened and to give Rudy another shot.

The corporations always hedge their bets. If Gulliani falls flat in Florida they still have Mitt Romney to fall back on and for some odd reason a lot of Republicans still like this guy.

How can they be ok with a guy like Romney who has changed positions on almost every issue more than once but then the exact same people made such a huge deal over John  Kerry being a "flip flopper" even though that was a solid vote and wasn't even a flip flop.

Remember the brainwashed line the right wingers were repeating leading up to the 2004 elections?
"I might not agree with Bush but at least I know where he stands on issues."

If they disagree with Bush then they should vote AGAINST Bush.

DUH.

and now the double DUH......
They don't have any fuggin' clue at all where Mitt Romney stands on anything but that's some how ok with them.

Folks, this is what happens when you get millions of Americans together who don't have a clue about reality and to make up for their personal apathy they turn on the TV and think they are getting informed.

and most importantly.....How would you feel if Clinton did all of those bad and/or stupid things and didn't take one single drop of responsibility?

You'd be livid.

Why do I say that? Because you hate Clinton and he DIDN'T do any of that.

....but you're ok with Bush.

How would you feel if Clinton were responsible for that and the other 500 evil, greedy or stupid things Bush has done?

The corporate media is there to keep you from thinking about these two presidents side by side but you have a brain....and it's up to you to use it.

The corporate media is there to tell you "our economy is good now and was bad under Clinton" hoping we'll continue to take out loans to buy complete crap and you yourself might allow history to be rewritten in your own brain but most of America realizes that those Clinton years were wonderful years to be in America.

Primary elections don't make sense.  Michigan screwed up and who knows if we get any delegates anyway?  I had to declare which of the two parties that I was voting for.  Then, they asked me if the number of the ballot was the same as what was on their paperwork.  After all this I had to mark uncommitted on the ballot to offer my support for Barak Obama.  I see character and intelligence in Obama.  Edwards and Clinton seem like marionettes, fake and complete with political strings attached. 

You rule for having the conscience to stick with "uncommited!"

You didn't get any delegates and sadly I have to tell ya, nor should you.

and before you get mad at me please hear me out.

When states move their primary farther away from the general election it screws the candidates with less money (mostly less connected to corporate money) and helps those that can earn more faster or ARE connected to corporations.

Moving primary dates earlier is a bad thing for the people and a super duper great thing for corporations who are allready taking this country over from every other angle.

Corporations are the lone driving force in pushing primary dates earlier. The corporations then made up the excuse that "the states want to feel more important" but that's total BS. If every state moved their date up then every state would be in the exact same place they were when they started.

If we did that then who wins?

Corporations and their puppet nominee and nobody else.

Michigan moved their primary up and the Democratic party was smart enough to screw you for doing that.

Please don't be mad at the national democratic party for your voice not being heard please instead point your anger towards the local election offices within the party who sold out and allowed the change in your primary date.

Push hard to get it moved back and while you're at it fight until death to get rid of those electronic voting machines.

I think we can all agree that we don't want these elections to become even MORE about who can raise the most fastest and earlier primary's are all about helping those candidates.

We should want those not connected to big money to run for President too.

After all....they make the best Presidents.

 Romney; although a brilliant businessman and an all around good person does seem to want to be President, just to be President. 

You left out one other reason Romney wants to be President.

To recoup the money spent on this campaign and double it a few hundred times.

Think the "D*ck Cheney style" of government. We allowed Bush and D*ck to do it so Romney will do it too.

You're 100% correct that he's a good business man but in all the worst ways.

He's greedy and greedy people want the White House to excelerate profits.

Think Bush and Cheney type of profits.

Did he exercise true "trickle down" when he made $100's of millions and STILL hired illegal aliens to mow his grass instead of some kid that needed to save for college?

That sums up the flaw/myth of "trickle down" actually working.

When someone is willing to use their own money it doesn't smell of honesty it reeks of desperation and do you think any man would be willing to pump millions of their own dough into a campaign and not be thinking about retrieving that money later on down the road and more?

Mitt Romney is corporate whore #1 of a pretty long list of them.

Plus he's the biggest liar of them all and playing dirtier than any one else with negative (and very false) ads.  

McCain has a shot at winning only because the RNC can seperate themselves from him after his nightmare 4 years. They'll fall back on the tried and tested "he was never one of us" so they'll have a decent shot to win in 2012 (Rick Perry)

No matter WHO the President is after Bush will be a 1 term President. This is 100% gauranteed.

This is the reason the RNC itself WANTS to lose in 2008. They want a Dem to fall flat and then they can get 8 years starting in 2012.

but the corporations are always stronger than a single political party and no matter how hard the RNC might be trying to lose the corporations will always put their guys out in the spotlight (Romney and Gulliani)

The next President will be a 1 term President.

That's how bad Bush policies have been (think Reagan) and that's how the media will spin it (think Papa Bush after Reagan) and that's how naive the American people will be to hold our next President responsible for the huge mess that they are walking into (we are stupid/uninformed every day)

If Obama pulls of a miracle and wins the primary he wont live to see the general elections (think MLK, RFK or Bhutto) and if Hillary wins she'll lose to the Republican.

Folks, the script has already been written and is already in stone and we all have the corporations of America and their greedy friends globally (from Saudi to China) to thank for it.
